This Is Why God Had To Slow You Down

Are you currently feeling that life is forcing you to slow down?

Perhaps this is through illness, exhaustion, or another unexpected moment where you have no other choice but to be still?

Have you been wondering why the a slowdown?

Are you believing that it’s just another frustrating, random act of life that you have to “get over”?

In our latest Convo of Thee Ultimate Love Letter podcast, we explore how moments of pause are often God’s invitations to slooooow down and give something to Him.

God will use anything to capture our attention in hopes that we turn His way.

Although the slowdown—especially when it’s illness— is often a drastic and painful space to navigate, God’s intention is for us to finally come to Him and give Him part of the load.

He is showing us where we were never meant to carry it all on our own.

  • Learn how to recognize when God is speaking through our circumstances
  • Understand what stillness truly means
  • Discover how to hear God’s voice in moments of rest, struggle, or surrender.

The slowdown may feel like punishment, but truly its God’s attempt to help us, to bless us, to carry part of the weight for us, because He loves us that much.

  1. This message really resonates with me because it’s a reminder of how unpredictable life and people can be. It’s easy to feel disappointed when others don’t meet our expectations, but focusing on a higher purpose can bring peace. I wonder, though, how you personally find strength in this belief during tough times? Do you have an experience where this truth became especially clear to you? It’s also interesting to think about how this perspective shapes relationships—do you think it makes us more forgiving or more cautious? How do you balance trust in people with trust in something greater? I’d love to hear your thoughts on this!

    1. Thank you so much for your comment.

It is difficult when people disappoint us, but honestly, God promises us that people will…and this is the very reason we are to draw near to Him, understanding that although people may change, God never does. So instead of clinging to people even after the disappointment, we can cling to God and His truth. Of course, I’ve been in a situation when I’ve been let down, but instead of being hyper-focused on the heartbreak, I turned to God and asked what the situation was teaching me about myself. When we come to God with that faith, knowing the lesson is for our benefit, then God will effortlessly show us all we need to know about you and the person who disappointed you.

Honestly, every disappointment is about us…something still in need of healing. So the key is to heal the wound and elevate beyond it. Once we do, we notice an elevation in the new connections sent our way.

Thank you again for stopping by.

      Jo
